Acting Obsessed ~ Peter Silverman

Acting ObsessedActing Obsessed by Peter Silverman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Acting Obsessed is a very involved thriller fiction. Silverman really digs deep into the developing the main characters in particular the female, Ginger. At points in the story you begin to question the sanity of all the characters involved. Silverman also put a little bit of mystery in with the storyline. I found that every time I thought I had all the puzzle pieces together, Silverman threw something in the mix that had me doubting my resolution.

This novel will have you literally on the edge of your seat anticipating on what will happen to the young actress next. Well written and I love the way it flowed seamlessly. There were, in my opinion, no dull sections to make me want to put the novel down and pick it up some other time. I had to solve the mystery then and there.

Great work

Winds of Change ~ Mary Metcalfe

Winds of ChangeWinds of Change by Mary Metcalfe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mary Metcalfe really touched my soul with her novel Winds of Change. This touching dramatic romance gives the reader a look into the full life from a child to senior citizen. I know next to nothing about gardening, but this novel had me very interested in starting a small gardening. Her character development of the four main characters set a well balanced tone for the storyline. Jennifer's ability to learn to love again after so much lost at a late age, directly tied into Lana ability to accept love in her mid-twenties. Father and son, Mark and Ben's story played right along with the Lana and Jennifer's story. It was amazing seeing the lessons of forgiveness and lessons of trust being built between the characters. Although I do characterize this novel as sort of fictional romance it was so much more. Jennifer's relationship with her aging father, gave an overall message for everyone to cherish their parents while they are still here and in sound mind.

Metcalfe produced an excellent novel and I am itching to read Carol's story in part II.

Witch Weigh ~ Caroline Mickelson

Witch WeighWitch Weigh by Caroline Mickelson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Witch Weigh is a beautifully written paranormal romance with a touch of comedy. Caroline Mickelson worked her magic (yes I went there) to give a wonderful novel exploring the life of a young witch who desperately needs an attitude adjustment and a fairy who gives her that precise adjustment.

Witch Weigh really shows how a person can change for the better and help other's in the process. I appreciate Mickelson's sense of reality when it comes to how people perceive those who are overweight. The backup characters at the camp give the novel a comical sense but a serious note about different ways people end up seeking assistance for losing weight.

Thoroughly enjoyed this paranormal romance about a witch who turns from a mean and self-centered person into a more presentable person.

Great novel.

Mostly Mad ~ Patrick Fealey

Mostly MadlyMostly Madly by Patrick Fealey
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Patrick Fealey delivers an interesting male perspective and take on relationships and personal struggles. His main character has his flaws, he's a drunk and in what seems to be a toxic relationship. We see this story told from a women's point of view all the time, but Fealey delves into the male version of the same story. Tommy is a successful journalist with problems from excessive drinking to the most pressing problem of a women he loved but is no longer the same women he once knew.

Although it took me a while to get into the writing style of Fealey, the novel has good pacing and an extreme range of characters that will intrigue the reader to continue reading. Tommy's neighbor Paulo is weird, quirky and to some and overall "donkey" to most people he encounters, but Fealey needs that character present to balance the flow of the novel. I wouldn't mind reading more material from this author.

You and Me Against the World ~ Raymond Esposito

You and Me, Against the WorldYou and Me, Against the World by Raymond Esposito
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A fictional Sci-fi winner, that is what the novel You and Me against the World is. Raymond Esposito is a writing genius. What he admits started of as a short story grew to be a grand novel of great proportion. His exquisite way of detailing the zombies and how each individual characters response to immediate danger, grabs the reader right in the first chapter. You and Me against the World reminds me of the show "The Walking Dead" meets the movie "Outbreak," two amazing acts of work made into a novel. Esposito's attention to detail is astonishing.

Thank goodness Esposito turned this into saga 1 as I am not ready to end the expedition of Dr. Thorn and the amazingly strong willed young vigilantes he has as a crew and leader. I am looking forward to the book 2 in this series.
