Review: Horizon Alpha: Predators of Eden

Horizon Alpha: Predators of EdenHorizon Alpha: Predators of Eden by D.W. Vogel
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Horizon Alpha was a great read. I did not want it to end. It is a coming of age story of young man by the name of Caleb. It shows his journey into manhood and how he maneuvers through the trials and tribulations of life in an alternative world. Earth is no more and mankind must survive at any costs. No matter how far in the future this story goes it always seems as thought past will repeat itself at some point.

Throughout this novel we see the vast jungle of the this new planet. The inhabitants are of dinosaur ancestry or that what they seem to be from the descriptions. My favorite of the beasties are the wolf like creatures, they are cunning, have their own language and hunt in packs just like those of this world.

Caleb is the main character and Vogel gives him a daunting task that Caleb will struggle with the entire novel. That task is to simply survive. This new world is not human friendly and is now an age and time when a 15 year old is considered a full fledged adult. The storyline is simple survive and keep the population multiplying. However, the Predators of Eden did not get that memo and will try to eat anyone dumb enough to get in their path. Great story, amazing character development and awesome action/adventure.

Horizon Alpha: Predators of Eden will be available for $0.99 May 17 - 25
