Shape Shifters of the Suburbs - The Boy From The Temple of Heaven by Luke Loaghan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Shape Shifters of the Suburbs - The Boy From the Temple of Heave by Luke Loaghan very short novel packed with quite a paranormal punch. Breccan, a young shapeshifter, is seemingly abandoned in life and adopted by an American in China. He knows he's special but does not know the background to how he became a shifter. Mary an older woman who wants a child badly, takes Breccan in her home and adopts him. I appreciate how Loaghan takes us on a journey of learning about Breccan shifting skills as well as still keeping him in a young adult life. This novel is short and packed full of adventure of middle schools life that happens to have loads of shapeshifting in it with quirky friends.
The cover is nicely done as far as graphics go. It definitely conveys shapeshifting. I thought it was too fierce for a young adult novel, with that being said I still thin the graphic was designed well just too much for the genre of this novel.
